Cassidy Argo (b. 1999) is a figurative painter based in Providence, Rhode Island. She received her BFA in Fine Art from Moore College of Art & Design and her MFA in Painting at the Rhode Island School of Design. In her work, figures linger and lounge in uncanny space, waiting in anticipation of the unknown. Enchanted by the mundane, she creates paintings that hold onto reality, but are ever so slightly slipping. Her paintings invite the viewer to join forever in this tension, contending with themes of anxiety and belief. Guided by the angst of girlhood, she explores the delicate interplay of comfort and dread, in search of something sweet.
